Take a deep breath, imagine, and say awe…
When you stop to appreciate your surroundings, you can’t help but stop and think, “What a wonderful world.”
Photos to reflect on as we show, again and again and again, that the world is full of goodness.
Welcome to Hooray Cafe’s backyard!
Oregon is home to some of the most amazing destinations in the country, many of which are overlooked or simply driven right past. This is due to the fact that a large majority of them are nestled, just out of eyes view. Perhaps intentionally?
Some locations are more well known than others, but with the arrival of ‘Solar Fest’ next month, in celebration of the full Solar Eclipse coming, I am sure they will all be very well traveled and well known. With an expected arrival of more than a million people in just the Central Region alone, there will be a lot of discovering to do, and a lot of tourists to do it.
Although this “Seven Wonders” list highlights what some would consider Oregon’s top destinations, there are several other locations that did not make the list, some of which many of us locals would consider our own slices of paradise.
There is an unspoken creed among Oregonians, in which we attempt to keep some of these locations hidden from the rest of the world. Although impossible, we will still try to hang onto them, keeping them for ourselves, as long as we can.
If you have traveled to any of the seven destinations listed, or plan on doing so, don’t forget to visit Travel Oregon to upload your photos from your favorite destination(s), or all seven if you’d like. If you’re posting your photos on social media, you can also use #traveloregon to share among others that have experienced the beautiful and incredibly unique scenery that Oregon has to offer. While you are at it, be sure to post with #hooraycafe to let more people know about our site.
As always, don’t forget to like and share Hooray Cafe to help spread the word that GOOD NEWS is making a comeback.
Every year, for about two weeks in February, Horsetail Falls in Yosemite is transformed by nature, by light. As the sun reaches the perfect sky angle the falls become a ribbon of gold, a glowing fire of mist. We hope you take a moment to watch this video, to feel awe.
Another drone video and musical masterpiece by Jaimen Hudson. Enjoy the sights and sounds and just say awe…
In Honor Of World Environment Day: Picture All The Places That Matter #WithNature
June 5, 2017In honor of #WorldEnvironmentDay, the link below will take you to a site that allows you to post a video or picture of your favorite place in nature, and a description as to why. The World Environment Day website was created to celebrate the environment, get us back in touch with nature, and also assist in creating the world’s largest virtual photo album.
Once uploaded you can tag your photo or video with either #WorldEnviornmentDay or #WithNature so that these can be tracked and collected accordingly.
This will also allow you the opportunity to have your photo or video seen, and possibly shared, by thousands across the globe. This also includes political leaders at exhibitions held at the United Nations Headquarters. That’s a pretty big deal for just sharing photos of your secret hideaway.
The below picture represents my favorite place #WithNature for a few different reasons. This view is what I see each morning from my kitchen window as the sun rises. It represents stability, a happy home, a loving family, a new day and another chance to start fresh.
Essentially, this photograph represents a new beginning, captured in one frame and somehow contained through just a window pane.
To get involved, first and foremost, share this post to spread the word, of course. Next, head to the World Environment Day website, where you not only get to share your photos and videos, you also get to enjoy the thousands that others across the world have already uploaded.
Such a great way to celebrate the environment, while also being able to relic in the breathtaking beauty that this world has to offer #WithNature.
Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay! Explore something great today, every day for that matter!! Get back in touch with nature, our first playground.
