Sweden Set To Take The Lead On New Curriculum Approach For Primary Students

Wow! The times certainly have changed! Sweden once again is taking the lead in technological advances. The latest including the curriculum that will be taught among students within their first year of primary school.

Students will now be adding computer coding to their core classes, as the need for computer programmers in the area is on the rise. Considering one of the most popular positions available is a computer programmer or coder, this change in curriculum seems to be a great call — one that could truly benefit America as well.

In addition to computer coding, students will also begin learning about the importance and identification of ‘Fake News.’ The primary focus will be on areas such as:

  • How to properly source news stories.
    How to share reliable news stories and
    How to identify those stories and sources being used simply for propaganda, particularly through social media.

Now, a couple of years ago the term ‘fake news’ wouldn’t have even gained attention, or received any credibility the way that it is today.
